Major General Alpheus Starkey Williams monument stands in the middle of Belle Isle, Detroit. Williams served in the Mexican-American War and for the Union in the Civil War, where his soldiers nicknamed him ‘Ol Pap because he treated his soldiers like his own sons. The Detroiter also served as judge, newspaper editor, postmaster general, and Congressman. He is portrayed here riding his favorite horse, Plug Ugly.

All prints feature professional photo paper to ensure a long lasting, high quality photographic print.
